I wanted to create the tears of happiness and sorrow.
The tears were expressed with beads of various sizes and colors.
When a driftwood is a living tree, it is rooted in one place and cannot be free; only when it dies is it swept away by the waves and becomes free. I think human and driftwood are similar as they both become spiritually free only after death.
The silkworm cocoon speaks to my thoughts about human birth, death, resurrection, and freedom as expressed in my work. Moreover, I wanted to imbue the empty shell of the silkworm cocoon with a new life and another story.
